Thomas D. Lancaster Service Awardlancaster

Dr. Thomas D. Lancaster served Emory College as the Senior Associate Dean of the Office for Undergraduate Education from 2003-2008.  As Dean, he offered strong support to the Emory Scholars Program.  Dr. Lancaster received his B.A. from Washington & Lee University, his M.A. from Miami University, and his Ph.D. in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis.  As a professor of political science at Emory, he has won the Emory Williams Teaching Award, a Crystal Apple teaching award, the "Excellence in Teaching Award" from the Center for Teaching and Curriculum, and Omicron Delta Kappa's "Award of Merit:  Outstanding Faculty Member in Service."  In honor of his commitment to service, excellence in study abroad, and to the Emory Scholars Program, the Thomas D. Lancaster Service Award, in the amount of $4000, is granted to the Emory Scholar UPGRADE recipient that best exemplifies these attributes.
