Science Research Abroad (IRES and DAAD RISE Programs)
International Research Experience for Science Students (IRES)
The SIRE International Research Experience for Science Students (IRES) program provides summer grants for students working in a science laboratory in another country. The program is co-funded by the SIRE/IRES program and Emory College Study Abroad. The goal is to give students a research experience similar to one that they could have on a US campus but in an international location. Students may not apply directly, but must be nominated by their department. To apply, students complete the new online IRES application form. For program details, please visit SIRE/IRES website.
DAAD RISE (Research Internship in Science and Engineering) Program
A similar program is available to participate in scientific research in Germany through the German Academic Exchange (DAAD). Students submit an application through the SIRE/IRES program and indicate their interest in participating in DAAD RISE. For details on application materials and program details, please visit SIRE/IRES website through the Office of Undergraduate Education.
