Mary Lynn Dalton’s interest in international education is a direct result of her own studies, experiences and travels abroad. She joined Emory after working with Barnard College and the Institute of International Education (IIE) while pursuing her master’s degree in international education development. Her professional background in communications is closely integrated with her passion for cross-cultural experiential learning. Mary Lynn approaches her work with the strong belief that cross-cultural understanding breeds critical thinkers who contribute meaningfully to their local and global communities.
Mary Lynn holds a B.S. in Italian Studies and a B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Georgia, and an M.A. in International Education Development from Teachers College, Columbia University. She studied abroad in Siena, Italy, and took part in the Busquedas Investigativas research delegation to Havana and Cienfuegos, Cuba. She also lived in Rome, Italy, for two years working with a language and culture exchange non-profit in collaboration with the English Department at Università degli Studi Roma Tre.
